Annual Anchorage Garden Pot Recycling Event a Success

More than one ton of plastic garden pots were collected on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Anchorage’s annual recycling event.

The annual garden pot recycling event is organized by Alaskans for Liter Prevention (ALPAR) and hosted at the Alaska Botanical Garden. Alaska Waste donates the dumpsters used to store and haul the pots, which are then recycled by the Anchorage Recycling Center.

Volunteers with the annual event stand in front of one of the dumpsters full of garden pots headed for recycling.

The total count this year came in at 2,200 pounds!

Great work everyone!
